Painting murals at Hospital Hospitality House – Arts in the Alley June 2014

Saturday June 7 and Sunday June 8 we will be painting six murals on the walls of Richmond’s Hospital Hospitality House. Hospital Hospitality House provides lodging for out-of-town patients at MCV Hospital (and their families) – cancer patients, patients waiting for a transplant, patients who were in a car accident while visiting Richmond, and so on. HHH provides a full range of conveniences designed to reduce day-to-day stresses so that patients may focus on recovery and families can concentrate on helping their loved one. Facilities include private guestrooms, kitchens and dining room, television lounges, a laundry room, a library, a chapel, an exercise room and the Day Rester’s Room. Our parent nonprofit, Offering, plays Christmas and Valentine’s Day concerts at HHH every year, and we are so excited to be able to paint murals at HHH! Seven of our artists (Katie Anderson, Karol Hilker, Emily Herr, Rachel Woolard, Rachel Loughlin, and Anthony & Jennifer Nesossis) will be creating murals all over the House – around the parking garage, on the patio, near the entrance, in the stairwell, in the study/computer room, and in the laundry room. Stay tuned this weekend, and follow us on social media (we’re artsinthealley on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) to see how the project progresses!
