Jeanine Bio

Jeanine Guidry, founder of Arts in the Alley, was born in Amsterdam and raised in the Dutch city of Maastricht.
While not a visual artist herself, she is an accomplished singer and musician (the band she started and still fronts, Offering, is the sponsoring nonprofit for Arts in the Alley). Jeanine loves seeing rundown parts of Richmond and beyond turned into bright outdoor art galleries.
In 2010, Jeanine received the much-coveted and prestigious 2010 Theresa Pollak Award for Excellence in the Arts for her outstanding work as a vocalist and community service organizer. In May of 2013, she graduated with her master’s degree in strategic public relations from George Washington University and she is pursuing a PhD in Media, Art, and Text at Virginia Commonwealth University starting in August of 2013. Her favorite color is red.
